George Orwell by magnetic-eye George Orwell by magnetic-eye
This is my portrait for November, George Orwell (his real name was Eric Arthur Blair). Author of Animal Farm and, of course, 1984. He also wrote numerous essays, articles, and the like. He was very political and outspoken. Also he was shot through the throat by a sniper in the Spanish Civil War and lived, so he's pretty hard core. 9x12 Watercolor paper with disposable technical pens. from a photo found on the internet.

You did a grand and wonderful job on one of the greatest truth tellers in the world. You did a lovey job on the detailing on the books that he have written. As well as the cross-hatching lines. He still is one of the most prominent writers to ever written about the dangers of communism and the expense of losing freedom. His words will always have meaning, and will always be important to remember, especially in this day in age, of constant silencing of censorship to fit in to this "feel good" ideology of supposedly feeling "safe", and "all is well in the house that's on fire".

You did a splendid job on this. Well done.

Brilliant drawing! Magnificent detail in the pen and ink. The eyes are haunting...as well they should be. I love this.
